(New Haven, Conn./WTIC) - Yale University is announcing its plans for fall and spring semesters of 2020-21.

Details have been spelled out in an email today from university president Peter Salovey.

He says courses will be a hybrid of in-person and remote instruction.

In addition, there will be mandatory testing for COVID-19 for students and faculty.

All undergraduate and graduate schools will reopen in August for education and research, according to Salovey.

He says most of the undergrad courses will be taught remotely.

However, some courses will be conducted in-person with social distancing in place.

In addition, first-year students will be able to study on campus during fall 2020 only while sophomores can do so during the spring 2021 semester.

Undergraduate seniors and juniors can be on campus for the full year.
