(Hartford, Conn. WTIC )Eversource Energy says it's prepared for a wind and rain storm expected to hit our state Thursday night and Friday morning.
Eversource spokesman Tricia Modifica says vacations have been cancelled, crews outside the state will help and extra customer care coordinators will be working.
The state could experience 50-mile an hour winds, in addition to heavy rains. Modifica says those conditions warrant extra manpower.
Modifica says customers should prepare an emergency kit equipped with non-perishable, food, water, pet supplies and medications. She also says make sure batteries are charged.
She also warns listeners to avoid any downed power lines.
