With so many malls facing economic pressure one mall here in Connecticut continues to buck the trend.
Business at Westfarms Mall continues to be brisk despite the fact many malls around the country continue to struggle, especially with the growing number of people shopping online. According to the Hartford Courant, many business analysts say changing with the times is key to economic success. Westfarms management says the mall attracts community events which blends in nicely with its 140 shops, offering a more intimate customer experience as opposed to major department stores. Some malls even have pickleball courts. Retail experts say it doesn't hurt that Westfarms Mall is located in the upscale community bordering West Hartford and Farmington.
