OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Various agencies and first responders, including Connecticut's Environmental Conservation Police officers, are searching for two missing boaters after a crash that killed one and injured others.
The accident happened around 9:15 p.m. when a boat returning from Block Island crashed into a jetty at the Harbor One Marina.
Nine people in total were aboard the boat.
Six people were rescued off the boat. One of them, the operator, is critically injured.
One man's body was recovered from the boat's wreckage underwater.
Two people remain missing.
In addition to EnCon Police, several agencies have been assisting in the response to this incident, including- Middletown Fire Department, Middlesex Health (EMTs), Essex Fire Department, Goshen Fire Department, Old Saybrook Fire and Police Departments, Old Lyme Fire Departments, Clinton Fire, the Coast Guard, and the State Police Dive Unit.
