1 person injured in Bristol fire

Bristol, Conn./WTIC Radio - An investigation is underway into a Tuesday morning fire in Bristol that left one person with injuries.

Firefighters were dispatched to the home on Woodland Street a little after 9:00 a.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered smoke and fire in the basement.

The eight occupants were able to escape.

The fire was contained to the basement.

No firefighters were injured but one of the residents was taken to Bristol Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters had the blaze knocked down within ten minutes of arrival.

The fire marshal is heading the investigation.
