Two Tolland homeowners are among 100 people arrested in a cockfighting bust Saturday afternoon.
State Police say a lengthy investigation found that Elvin Miranda, 59, and Lisa Miranda, 66, were allegedly hosting cockfighting events at a property off Mountain Spring Road, previously described as an abandoned quarry.
All 273 birds seized at the scene were euthanized because of their deteriorated conditions.
$90,000 cash was taken into custody as evidence.
Charges against the Mirandas include cruelty to animals, professional gambling, operating a gambling premise, and risk of injury to a minor.
They posted a $250,000 bond with a court appearance on June 18, 2026.
