911 tape released in drowning death of New Milford mother

A 911 call that could not be more chilling.
"I Killed her," the caller is heard saying. Asks the 911 worker: "You killed her?" The response: "Yeah, I had to."
The caller, say New Milford, CT, Police, was Eric Meagan -- now accused of drowning his mother in the Still River. The 911 operator asked, "How did you kill her?"
"In the water," was the response.
 "You drowned her?
"Yeah."
Throughout, Meagan speaks with a flat affect, saying at one point, "I had to do it to keep the demons away."
The 911 worker able to keep Meagan on the phone long enough for police to get there. When they arrived,
they found him, next to the body of his mother. "Still in the water," he said to the operator.
