Tracy Noble, spokeswoman for Greater Hartford AAA, advises getting out now and washing your vehicle's body and undercarriage.

That's especially true underneath where salt and brine can corrode key components, Noble said.

Noble adds more drivers are keeping their vehicles with the prices of new and used cars going through the roof.

"The average vehicle on the road right now is about 11-years-old because people are keeping their cars longer.  You want to take good care of those vehicles", said Noble.

She also advises using a high quality car wash solution, not dish detergent which can strip the wax from your vehicle.
