A year that began with the sudden February closing of the Stone Academy's
nursing schools across Connecticut ends with a lawsuit filed by its its abandoned students.
The suit filed in U.S. District Court on Tuesday seeks to hold Connecticut officials and the state accountable for what happened after the Stone closed. The students allege that the state's intervention resulted in their class credits and nursing licenses being withheld.
The students are also suing the academy and its owners.
The new suit also alleges that actions taken by the state damaged the reputations of the students.
