Newtown, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Newtown say they received a threat against Sandy Hook School this morning.
Around 9:15 a.m., a third-party threat was directed at the school, prompting a police response.
Officers say they quickly determined all students and staff were safe and that the threat was not credible.
Rather, investigators say, it was similar to so-called "swatting" incidents they have investigated in the past.
Police say they did a thorough sweep of the school and the surrounding area to ensure there was nonthing suspicious or out of the ordinary.
