Waterbury, Conn./ WTIC Radio - A major development project is about to take shape along the Waterbury-Naugatuck line.
The two municipalities are announcing the construction of an Amazon warehouse and distribution center in an industrial park the straddles the city and the borough.
Waterbury Mayor Neil O'Leary says they've been trying to figure out to do with the tract for years.
He says the parcel is 163-acres that will include the center, parking, access and egress.
O'Leary says they expect a thousand full-time and several hundred part-time jobs, along with millions in future tax revenue.
The mayor says they're hoping for a start day by sometime this summer.
