Hartford police have arrested a Sherbrooke Ave. man for a July 4th stabbing.

They say a woman in her thirties was slashed in the neck around 7 pm on that holiday. She was attacked outdoors near 444 New Britain Ave., an apartment building with businesses including a pizza place downstairs. She survived.

Police don’t believe the victim knew her alleged attacker, Jose Vasquez, 41. He was found and arrested Wednesday by the Hartford Police Fugitive Task Force.

Vasquez faces charges including first degree assault. Bond was set at $750,000.
