WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury Police arrest a man wanted on several outstanding warrants who led police on a foot chase before he was taken into custody.
Police say Dayshaun Anthony Nolberto, 30, of Waterbury, was driving in the area of West Main and State Streets in a Red Honda CR-V that was bearing a fraudulent license plate.
When police attempted to pull the vehicle over around 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nolberto allegedly sped up at a reckless speed and managed to get away from police who stopped the pursuit because of the dangerous speeds.
Later, it was seen that the vehicle lost control and hit a street sign.
Nolberto led police on a foot chase, including jumping 32' while running from officers who caught up with him anyway.
He was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries related to the jump.
Nolberto is facing charges of interfering with an officer, possession of more than one half ounce of cannabis, engaging the police in pursuit, operation of a vehicle with a suspended license, insufficient insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plates, failure to obey traffic signal, failure to drive in the proper lane, and driving the wrong way on a one-way.
