
Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of a teenaged girl in Waterbury last month.
Under arrest is Shamar Awater, 40, of Waterbury.
Police say he was picked up Friday at a residence on Sunny Lane in Watertown.
Atwater is charged with shooting Carizma Fox, 17, on July 11.
She died a day later.
Police say they found the victim lying outside in the area of 185 Willow Street in the wee hours of the morning.
There was a disturbance involving several people, say police.
In addition to murder, Atwater faces charges of criminal use of a firearm, unlawful discharge, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a firearm, among other offenses.
Bond was set at $3 million.
