WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury Police arrest a city resident in connection with a homicide reported at the end of June.
Officers responded to the area of 69 Washington Street around 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, on the report that a man had been stabbed multiple times.
The man, identified as Samuel Lopez, 47, of Waterbury, was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
A second man was found with a serious facial laceration and has since been treated and released from the hospital.
An investigation led officers to Jose Ayala, 50, as the suspect.
Police say Ayala knew the victims and that a personal dispute led to the incident.
Ayala is facing murder and first-degree assault charges.
Bond is $2,000,000.
