(WTIC Radio) - West Haven Police make six arrests while investigating an early Saturday morning street takeover.
Police say around 2 a.m. Saturday, multiple vehicles attempted a street takeover in the area of Route 1 / Boston Post Road and Campbell Avenue.
Numerous 911 calls reported people standing in the roadway and cars doing “donuts” in the street.
Multiple parties involved began throwing fireworks towards police and were not complying with orders.
Officers converged on the area and were able to make six total arrests. Four adults and two juveniles were charged accordingly.
Due to the large amount of video evidence, West Haven's investigators anticipate more arrests in the near future.
In a statement on Facebook, which is posted below, West Haven Police say: "...attempts at 'street takeovers' and/or blocking the roadways denying our citizens access to public safety will not be tolerated."
