
Stratford, Conn./WTIC Radio - The body of a boy who fell into the Housatonic River in Stratford this week has been recovered.
Stratford police say the six-year-old was located Friday around 2:00 p.m. by civilian boaters.
The child fell from the Birdseye Boat Ramp on Wednesday.
Police say the boy was found about a half-mile south of where he originally went into the water.
The body was transported first to the boat ramp and later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington for an autopsy.
The family of the deceased child was notified of the discovery by Stratford Police and Fire personnel.
