Bridgeport Democratic mayor primary re-do scheduled

The fourth Tuesday of the new year has been announced as the date for the re-do of the Democratic primary for mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The new primary has been scheduled for January 23, 2024, as a result of a court order following allegations of ballot-box stuffing during the original primary last September.
Mayor Joe Ganim finished first in the primary, as well as in the general election on November 7.
If Ganim wins the re-do of the primary, then he remains in office. If the primary is won by challenger John Gomes, then a new general election will be held on February 27.
