The mean streets of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mean for kids waiting to board or get off their school buses.
New figures from the city reveal that many drivers ignore the stop signs displayed by the buses.
A study by the city counted nearly 10,000 such instances over a six-month period.
Mayor Joe Ganim promises a crackdown to get out the message that stop signs are not just mere
suggestions. Says Ganim: “It is unacceptable that there are motorists who are blatantly putting our children in danger."
