Of the thousands of people who showed up over the weekend to mourn the ambush murders of Bristol Police Lieutenant Dustin
DeMonte and Sergeant Alex Hamzy, a few have since gone above and beyond. Several Bristol merchants have now joined together to honor the slain officers. They held a raffle yesterday -- money from which goes directly in the name of Officer Alec Iurato who survived the attack to the police canine fund. For the fallen officers' families, they've started a Hero's Fund collection. Among these business people, Kevin Fuller runs Dunphy's Ice Cream shop, but was Bristol Police Commissioner for 11 years and calls the killings heartbreaking. Another of the merchants, the owner of Undone Salon, is married to a Bristol officer. Also stepping up, Sergio's Pizza of Bristol.
