New Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - New Haven police say the case of a man found dead in a Walnut Street home has now been upgraded to a homicide investigation.
Just after 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, police officers were called to the scene on a report of a person shot.
Russell McKenzie, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police executed a search warrant.
An autopsy determined McKenzie sustained at least one gunshot wound.
The female who placed the initial 911 call was distraught and taken to Yale New Haven Hospital at a precaution, said police.
