
Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - There's been an arrest in a fatal boating crash from over a year ago.
State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Conservation Police are charging Kerry Sheltra, 55, of Rocky Hill.
It was July 10, 2022 that EnCon police say Sheltra was operating a vessel on the Connecticut River in Portland.
Around 5:00 p.m. that day, Portland Fire Department and EnCon police responded to a report of a serious boating crash north of Petzolds Marina.
Eight people were on board that day, say police.
Investigators say the vessel Sheltra was operating collided with shore.
One person was killed, two others sustained life threatening injuries and three others had non life threatening injuries.
Sheltra is facing charges of manslaughter, assault and risk of injury to a minor.
He's free on $50,000.00 bond and is due in court in Middletown December 7th.
