
East Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - East Haven police are charging a man in the death of an infant last year.
They say Angel Marcus Rodgriguez, 29, left two children including his seven-month-old son alone in a bathtub last October 6 in a home on Redfield Avenue.
Officers reponded around 9:00 that night and found the child, Angel Josiah Rodriguez, unresponsive.
The infant was later pronounced dead at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Investigators say the baby was found by another family member while the elder Rodriguez, who did not live at the home, was on his phone in another part of the house.
He said he left the baby alone briefly in an infant bathing chair and the faucet on a trickle.
The medical examiner determinted the cause of death to be drowning.
The father is charged with manslaughter, risk of injury, and reckless endangerment.
Bond was set at $100,000.
