Bolton, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-This Easter weekend drives increased Easter chocolate sales, with this year's holiday free
from Covid restrictions, Karen Munson, President of Munson's chocolates said.

The chocolate maker, now in its third generation, was started in 1946. "Because of capacity restrictions last year, we were counting the number of customers in the store. This year is night and day difference with an incredible turnout."

As for the favorites, Munson said, "This Easter Holiday is all about the bunnies, milk chocolate, dark and white. It's one of the few holidays we have a full complement of those items. After that it would be the creme eggs we have been making for 76 years."

Munson Chocolates has eight locations, with the headquarters and factory in Bolton.

"Christmas is number one in the rankings because it is such a long-protracted holiday... Easter is a little shorter, but it's number two, and Valentine's Day is number three," Munson observed.
