PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Plainfield police arrest a couple over a disruption that began at the town's school.
Plainfield police say Sandra LaPrade, 54, was "irate" outside the Plainfield Central School around 1:19 p.m. Tuesday. Sandra was yelling, using obscenities, demanding her child be removed from school.
She was arrested on breach of peace and interfering with an officer charges, after numerous attempts to calm her failed.
Sandra's husband, Thomas LaPrade, 53, arrived at the police department and became "extremely uncooperative," police say.
Thomas allegedly threatened to cause "bodily harm" to police and tried to avoid arrest by struggling with officers in his vehicle, which he was revving in the direction of the police department.
During the struggle, Thomas and three officers received minor injuries. He was treated at William Backus Plainfield Emergency Department, where police say he was yelling at staff.
The three injured officers turned down medical attention.
Thomas was charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an officer, three counts of assault on an officer, threatening in the second degree, breach of peace in the second degree, and criminal mischief in the second degree.
Thomas was released on a $30,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Danielson Superior Court.
