BERLIN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Ben Proto has been re-elected to a third term as chair of Connecticut’s Republican Party.
The 74 members in the CT GOP committee met Tuesday to cast their vote.
Proto slid into a third term without any objection.
He did have some opposition. Jason Douglas, a private investigator and podcaster, raised concerns about how effective the current CT GOP leadership has been with majority democrats in all top offices since former Republican Governor Jodi Rell left office in 2011 and with Republicans outnumbered in the State House 102-49 and State Senate 25-11.
“2025 & especially 2026, hold great opportunities for the Connecticut Republican Party. Connecticut Democrats have lost sight of the greatness of Connecticut and have become hellbent on adopting a far-left agenda, that will destroy Connecticut’s economy, drive more people to other states, and make it more difficult for our children and grandchildren to make their lives in Connecticut” said Proto in a release.
