Hartford, Conn (WTIC Radio)-Lawmakers this session consider a measure that eventually phases out the sub-minimum wage for
restaurant workers receiving tips.
Proponents said the measure is necessary to provide a living wage. A group called One Fair Wage said in California when the wages
for restaurants employees increased, so did business at the restaurants.
Scott Dolch of the Connecticut Restaurant Association feels differently.
He surveyed members with 96 percent opposed. The survey also found the average pay is $33 an hour for servers
and $38 an hour for bartenders.
Dolch argues the measure hurts the people it's seeking to help.
