Signs of a sizzling Senate race, as Connecticut's Republican nominees for office
get together in Meriden for a unity picnic three months ahead of Election Day.
Leora Levy was there, talking up her Senate race against Democratic
incumbent Richard Blumenthal. As she, candidate for Governor Bob
Stefanowski and others made a show of Republican unity, Levy tied Blumenthal
to President Biden -- telling supporters that what unites Democrats are failed policies and a
floundering leadership. The Republican gathering comes one day after
a similar Democratic unity rally in Hartford, where Senator Blumenthal said that if
Levy gets the job, Mitch McConnell would become Senate Majority leader and
then no woman would be safe in America.
