In Cleveland, the Indians are now the Guardians and in Washington, it's no longer the Redskins, but the Commanders. But here in Connecticut, several schools refuse to give up their Native American referenced names.

One school -- Killingly High -- is about to pay for calling its teams the Redmen and the Red Gals. More than $94,000 in funding for Killingly has now been canceled by the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Fund.


Killingly's Board of Ed had voted three years ago to remove the nickname, only to reverse course months later.
