HARTFORD, CONN( WTIC Radio)-Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy announced savings on out-of-pocket prescription drugs for Seniors on Medicare D, but Murphy walked out of the press conference after being continuously interrupted by supporters of those starving in Gaza.
The Senators said 265 thousand Connecticut seniors will enjoy a cap this year of $3,300 dollars in total out-of-pocket costs.
The savings are part of a provision from the Inflation Reduction Act.
Next year the cap drops to $2,000.
Blumenthal said the list of drugs to be reduced should be expanded.
Both Murphy and Blumenthal offered to speak with the protestors after the event. Murphy became exasperated after the constant interruptions.
