HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Hartford Police are investigating the death of a city woman as a homicide.
Officers responded to the report of an overdose or other medical emergency at an apartment in the area of 93 Spring Street around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Inside, investigators found apartment resident Catherine Hays, 53, dead with obvious signs of trauma. It's believed she was shot. There were traces of a shooting.
Police believe Hays was shot sometime on Monday.
It's believed the shooting was targeted, not random.
Detectives are securing search warrants while talking with possible witnesses.
