
Wethersfield, Conn./WTIC Radio - Connecticut's unemployment rate dipped three-tenths of a percentage point in July.
The state Department of Labor shows the jobless rate was at 3.6% last month, down from the June number of 3.9%.
That's lower than the national average of 4.3%.
The department also says 700 jobs were added last month by Connecticut employers.
Commissioner Bartolomeo said, “Overall, the data points to a strong economy with low unemployment and tens of thousands of job opportunities across industry sectors. This continues to be a good market for job seekers.
The labor force is up 13,000 from July of last year, officials said.
