Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Two men are facing charges after authorities say they were in possession of numerous venomous snakes.
State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection EnCon police say they seized a total of 49 reptiles: 46 snakes, two anacondas, and a water monitor lizard.
It was June 24 that EnCon police executed a search and seizure warrant on a Sherman Avenue home in Hamden.
Most of the snakes were various species of rattlesnakes, considered a danger and prohibited to possess in Connecticut without proper permits.
Under arrest are Tyler Foster and Brian Roman, both 26, of New Haven.
They face numerous counts including possession of a wild animal without a permit.
The snakes have been moved to a licensed facility and all went through thorough health screenings, according to DEEP.
