HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut remains in a drought with timber-dry fire conditions across the state, even after some rain Sunday night into Monday.
Parts of the state received a quarter to a third of an inch in the rainfall. Other parts received less.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has said it will take two-to-three inches of a soaking rainfall to put a dent in the ongoing fire conditions that have resulted in dozens of fires burning across the state.
Governor Lamont declared a Stage 2 drought status this weekend, pushing conservation awareness.
