BETHEL, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Duracell announces its relocating its Research and Development headquarters from Bethel to Altanta, Georgia.

The new R&D facility is scheduled to open in the summer of 2026.

To be housed in the new state-of-the-art Science Square Labs building, Duracell says the move will provide the battery maker with state-of-the-art facilities, modern workspaces, and access to what it's calling the "tech hub of the south."

Duracell says it will provide support programs for employees who will be relocating.

It's unclear how many people in Connecticut will be affected, though the move is expected to create around 100 jobs in Georgia.
