EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ East Haven Police have charged a man with murder in the killing of a 27-year-old mother last summer.
Police say Jonathan Jara-Acupina is charged with the murder of his live-in girlfriend, Lizzbeth Aleman-Popoca, in June.
Investigators found Popoca buried in a shallow grave behind a restaurant in Branford, where Jara-Acupina worked. The discovery of her remains came two weeks after she went missing.
Police say he is the father of the couple's 7-year-old daughter.
Jara-Acupina is due in court Monday.
