ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police arrest an Ellington man in connection with a deadly crash in Rocky Hill.
Troopers say Jacob Texicon, 23, lost control of the 2011 BMW 328xi he was driving, around 8:48 p.m. Friday, near the Exit 23 on-ramp on I-91 Southbound.
Texicon hit a 2017 Nissan Versa, forcing both vehicles to roll over. During the rollover, a 2020 GMC Terrain was hit and also lost control.
The driver of the Versa, identified as Jada Upshaw, 26, of Bloomfield, had life-threatening injuries and later died at a local hospital.
State Police say Texicon was driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
He is being charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Texicon's bond is $50,000.
