Hartford, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-Expecting a release of pent-up demand, more people are expected to drive, fly and seek other modes of transportation this Thanksgiving, a fifteen percent increase over last-year's Covid restricted Holiday, according to the Connecticut Triple A.
The travel organization expects two and a half million New Englanders to travel, 87-perent of them driving, said spokesperson Tracy Noble.
According to Noble, only 8 percent feel traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday poses a ‘significant’ risk for COVID. Last year, she said that number was 40-percent.

"We did find that about one-third of Connecticut travelers said that they did in fact change their travel plans, or planning not to travel because of the dramatic increase in gas prices. That still leaves about 65 percent who said gas prices had no bearing on their travel," she said.
Triple A also predicts air travel jumps 80 percent over last year.
