On August 7, police received a report from a veterinary clinic treating a cat for injuries deemed suspicious.

The investigation revealed the feline had signs of physical injury and neurological trauma.  The cat was also covered in bleach and later died.

Now, police are charging Raymond Neuberger, 38, of Fairfield.

A necropsy determined the cat died from blunt force trauma

During the investigation, it was determined Neuberger was also allegedly engaged in domestic violence, police said.

A separate warrant was prepared for that case.
