Norwalk, Conn./WTIC Radio - Fire in Norwalk drove over a dozen from their homes on Saturday.
The blaze broke out in a multi-family home on Ely Avenue.
There was heavy fire showing from the side and rear of the structure by the time firefighters arrived just before 4:30 p.m.
The fire fire wound up going to three alarms.
Two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion.
A 14-year-old girl jumped from the burning home and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Her mother was assisted out of the building by a neighbor using a ladder prior to firefighters arrival, fire officials said.
A dog was rescued and another made it out with the resident.
In all, 13 people have been displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
Fire companies from Stamford and New Canaan provided at at the scene while other companies from neighboring towns assisted in citywide coverage.
The Norwalk Fire Marshal's office is leading the investigation.
