
Westport, Conn./WTIC Radio - Firefighters in Westport performed an ice rescue Thursday morning on the Saugatuck River.
The call came in shortly before 7:00 a.m.
Fire crews arrived at the Post Road area of the river to find the deer that had fallen through the ice.
They donned cold weather suits and went on to the river in a raft to pull the animal to shore.
Fire officials said she was okay and able to walk away into a wooded area.
