NORFOLK, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Numerous roads are closed and detours are in place after floodwaters hit Litchfield county hard Sunday into Monday.
The Town of Norfolk, for example, experienced four to five inches of rain that came down in a less-than two-hour period of time Sunday into Monday. The rainfall overwhelmed drainage systems, leading to some roads washing away.
The State Department of Transportation is currently investigating flood-related road closures in towns like Norfolk, Canaan, Kent, New Milford, and Shanon.
