Middletown, Conn./WTIC Radio - A former teacher at a Middletown day care center has been arrested.
Police were first notified January 12th.
They say Kristie Kovarcik, 47, was caught on video tossing a two-year-old child across a room, causing the child to land headfirst into a wall.
The child sustained a contusion above the right eye, police say.
The director of Town & Country Learning heard a commotion and viewed the video before notifying the state Department of Children and Families and the child's parents.
Kovarcik faces charges of risk of injury and reckless endangerment.
The day care says Kovarcik has since been fired.
