WEST HAVEN, CONN (WTIC Radio)-Four people died in wrong-way crash early this morning.
State police said it happened just before 1:30 on Interstate 95 southbound.
The wrong-way driver was operating a Chevy Silverado pickup northbound in the southbound lane when it collided with a Nissan Altima in the left lane.
The Silverado then entered the center lane and collided with a Nissan Sentra. The operator of the Silverado and three passengers in the Nissan Altima all suffered fatal injuries. Two occupants in the Sentra suffered life-threatening injuries and have been hospitalized.
No names have been released pending notification of next of kin.
