With less than a day to go in the 2026 Legislative Session, the Connecticut Senate passes the so-called "Glock bill" that tightens restrictions on which Glock handguns can be sold in the State.

The Democrats' priority bill prohibits the sale of Glocks that they say are convertible to machine guns with a switch, insisting it's being done in the interest of public safety.

However, Republicans have argued that law abiding gun owners would be the ones wrongly targeted through the legislation.

Senators voted 22 to 11 with three absent/not-voting to advance the bill that passed previously in the State House to Governor Lamont's desk for his signature.

Debate on the so-called "Glock Bill" began around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday and finished before 7:30 a.m. in a rare all-night session.
