Haddam, Conn./WTIC Radio - A Haddam woman is facing charges of animal cruelty.
State police say Josephine Ragland, 28, ran a training and boarding operation under the name "Wagging Good".
Ragland allegedly charged between $1,000 and $2,500 to pick up and board dogs, sometimes using the alias "Lily".
Investigators say one of the dogs in her care, a three-and-a-half year old French bulldog named "Charlie" died last year.
A warrant states that Ragland kept the dog's body in a trash bag before ultimately dumping it off Canterbury Turnpike in Norwichtown.
It further states that Ragland never told the owner of Charlie's death, repeatedly providing updates on the dog's progress.
Police say Ragland provided them with different stories regarding the dog.
Tests on Charlie showed he was emaciated, likley was not fed, and possibly suffered heat stroke.
Ragland's free on $50,000 bond and is due in court September 30.
