HAMDEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ With temperatures in the single digits and bitter wind chills, all Hamden public schools and their students will be remote on Friday, January 28, 2021.
The district is concerned the ventilation and heating systems in the buildings, which have been set to meet certain COVID-19 mitigation protocols, would be stressed in the cold weather.
Officials are also warning parents and students that with snow and wintery mixes in the forecast for early next week, classes may remain virtual for several more days.
