HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Hartford Fire Department is investigating a fire that injured four residents and two firefighters.
Crews rushed to 50 Bulkeley Avenue around 1 a.m. Monday morning on the report of an active fire.
A kitchen fire consumed the second floor with flames and heavy smoke.
Two residents were found not breathing. They are described as an adult male and a child. CPR was immediately performed.
The man was air lifted to the Bridgeport Burn Unit.
The child was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Two other residents and two firefighters were hospitalized at area facilities for treatment of their injuries, including smoke inhalation. One of the firefighters was released.
Two families, with a total of ten people (7 adults, 2 children), were displaced.
