Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - An afternoon shooting Friday in Hartford led to occupants of two vehicles exchanging gunfire on a busy downtown highway leaving one dead and one injured.
Hartford officers were investigating at Newfield Avenue in which a victim was shot and transported to Hartford Hospital.
Meantime, two vehicles apparently involved in that incident chased each other on to Interstate 84 eastbound.
State police Trooper First Class Pedro Muniz said the shots were fired between the two vehicles.
The injured party was taken to the hospital, Muniz said, and one vehicle fled.
I-84 eastbound in Hartford was shut down into Friday night as police processed the scene.
