HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Hartford Police are investigating an early morning Fourth of July homicide.
Police say Jayla Heaven, 22, of Hartford, was found unresponsive at 29 Shultas Place around 2:17 a.m. Monday.
She was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police add that a second victim, identified as a man in his 20s, arrived privately at an area hospital, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
It was observed a large party was taking place at the time of the shooting.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and assumed the investigation.
